North England Regional Final: Leeds Trinity University

Our first Regional Final in North England for the Big Ideas Competition 2023 will be taking place at Leeds Trinity University on Thursday 18th May.

We’re excited to be joined by 10 teams from 3 schools in North England who will present their Big Ideas to a panel of judges, made up of representatives from our Business Partners, Solutions for the Planet, professionals in the STEM/Sustainability/Education/Youth spheres, plus our very special young person judges. An Environmentally Friendly Water Generator (EFWG). It will work like a big washing machine which generates hydro enrgy. A filtration system where the energy gets sucked out and put back in.

A Helping Hand

A life saving app with videos and advice to support people in a medical emergency.

Cleaner Crew

Bishop Young CofE School

A cleaner drone that will clean the streets to stop habitats from being destroyed. It will take all the rubbish to a bin which will then be sorted through.

Seed Squad

Co-Op Academy Manchester

A robotic seeder designed to stop deforestation. The robotic seeder will be solar powered and will be planting more trees than there are being cut down.

Fly Car

Co-Op Academy Manchester

An innovative flying car which will prevent car crashes from happening in the future. The car is made from sustainable materials.

A robot that will be sent to clean up the oceans from plastics and metals.

A portable charging port powered by solar panels which will provide free elecricity for people who leave it to charge in the sun.

Homeless Hotel – this service will provide food, showers, water and a room to stay until they get back on their feet.

Kettle Health

“Your online cup of tea” – a chat room where people can share their experiences with their medical conditions/family members.

A small filter that clips onto your car’s Exhaust Pipes filtering out Carbon particles. The product will collect the carbon which can then be used in the future to make diamonds.
