I have always been passionate about working for and to improve communities, society and now the planet! I have a history both in teaching and working within local communities, believing it’s important to understand the needs of different communities and demographics in order to effectively empower people towards making positive change.  

I have lived in contrasting corners of the globe, Finland and Thailand, working as a teacher. That has really helped put things into a global perspective and I believe deeply in the need to engender positive change to protect our planet’s future and therefore the future of our young people. 

Since being very young, I have always been interested in the issues we face regarding the environment and believe in the power of always trying to find new solutions rather than accepting entrenched practices. I just love that the Big Idea’s Programme is all about developing young people’s wonderful and innovative solutions that just don’t see the barriers so many adults do.  

When not at work, I like to cook delicious food inspired from all over the world, go kayaking, wild swimming and keep fit by dancing to all my favourite music! It sounds corny but the world really can be a beautiful place so let’s work out how to keep it that way 😊
