“When we remove the “young” label, we’re left with “people” – the individuals who make our planet truly ours. People give meaning to the world around us, transforming it from a mere collection of land and sea into a vibrant, dynamic place. The perspectives of younger generations are invaluable, offering unique insights that others may not see. It’s crucial that their voices are heard, not only to help us prepare for a future alongside them, but also so they can prepare for their own future. As we navigate change, it’s essential that we equip the next generation to embrace and lead that change for themselves.”
Rishi first became involved with Solutions for the Planet through his participation in the Big Ideas Competition, where he joined a team focused on encouraging children to lead healthier lifestyles. When his teammates withdrew from the competition just before the regional final, Rishi took the opportunity to present the idea on his own and ultimately placed first in the West Midlands. His dedication led him to finish as runner-up in the national finals. The following year, he returned as a judge at the national finals in Westminster. Rishi’s ongoing involvement with Solutions for the Planet saw him invited back as an alumna judge for the 10th anniversary final in 2024, and he now sits as part of the Youth Insights Panel!
Outside of Solutions for the Planet, Rishi is an aspiring solicitor, currently studying law at Nottingham Trent University. He is also the President of the 93% Club, where he champions initiatives to improve social mobility and inclusivity in higher education.
