I have always been passionate about the environment and sustainability. My career has led me into the world of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environment within a cast iron foundry — a place where every day reinforces the importance of protecting both people and the planet.
Following university, I began working in Health & Safety and Environmental management, and over time my role naturally expanded into other areas. At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: everyone deserves to go home safe at the end of the day. We all share a responsibility to look after ourselves, our colleagues, and the world around us — and that philosophy drives me in both my professional and personal life.
Having been a mentor in the Big Ideas Programme, I’ve seen firsthand the creativity and potential that young people have when they’re given the knowledge, tools, and encouragement to make a difference. It’s inspiring to see them shape ideas that challenge how we think about sustainability and the future.
Outside of work, I’m a passionate photographer, often found capturing the beauty of nature and the natural world. From a young age, I was influenced by the incredible work of David Attenborough, Jane Goodall and others. People whose dedication continues to remind me why protecting our planet matters so deeply. I’m proud to be part of a programme that helps nurture that same passion and awareness in the next generation.
