Announcing our Big Ideas Competition 2023 National Finalists!

After seven exciting Regional Finals held at universities across the country, we are delighted to announce our Big Ideas Competition 2023 National Finalists!
The following teams will join us at the National Final at the Palace of Westminster, in London, on 5th July 2023 to present their Big Ideas one final time, and we will crown the winner of the Big Ideas Competition 2023! 

Eco-Cycle

Woodbrook Vale School

An app with a recycling-based competition and will show what can and cannot be recycled, and where their nearest recycling point is.

Hydrobus

Plashet School

A bus using hydroelectricity generated from mini power plants operated by the team and local communities.

The Emission Eliminators

Outwood Academy Freeston

A paper filter that clips onto a car’s exhaust pipes to filter out and collect carbon particles to then be turned into diamonds.

The Litter Builders

Outwood Academy Redcar

A service collecting litter in the Redcar region and turning it into public art and statues to raise awareness about waste.

An organisation hosting sporting events and community support groups for children with physical disabilities.

Colton Hills Community School

A generator using biomass collected from local regions as a fuel to power individual homes.

A car that collects and photosynthesises CO2, using the carbon to power the car and releases oxygen into the air.

A triangular shaped device that redirects light from streetlamps to the ground to reduce light pollution.
