“Sustainability is about using what we have creatively so that we all have enough for the future; young people are naturally creative – S4TP brings these elements together with STEM and what comes out is truly inspiring.”
Kate joins S4TP after five years teaching science and biology in Scottish secondary schools. She is currently studying for an MSc. in Learning for Sustainability at Edinburgh University, exploring how we can face sustainability challenges as educators and preparing our young people for the future.
Her other interests include environmental and conservation education, regularly leading groups of young people in the outdoors and undertaking conservation tasks. She has recently returned from a six-week placement this summer as a Ranger on a remote Scottish island.
In her spare time, Kate enjoys leading community performance theatre and getting outdoors whatever the weather.
