Louise Houston

I have been lucky in my career to have had mentors and I truly believe having access to a mentor is powerful.  I really hope our relationship helps you grow and reach your potential.

What do I do: I work as Head of Inclusion for a large construction materials company (Tarmac).  I have a HR (Human resources) degree which I completed at night school whilst working. I’ve held various roles in HR but my current role is by far my favourite.   HR enables our business to have the right people in the right places at the right time to ensure we can be safe and productive. There are many elements to HR but at the moment I am focusing on making our business a great place to work where everyone can reach their potential.  Sounds simple but in the corporate world this is a full-time job!

A bit about me: I’m a wife and mom to two children. Other than being kept busy with the kids we have a Dog ‘Cooper’ whom I love to walk.  I love the fresh air and getting outside.  I have a large friendship group who are very important to me, we meet up when we can and support each other, always.
