“I think helping students to develop their confidence and ability to work as a team is a worthwhile cause in itself. Saving the planet? Well that would be great too”

What do I do: I’m on the Tarmac graduate scheme which means spending two years working in many parts of the business to see how it all fits together. I’ve worked in the concrete manufacturing business, with the teams that build the roads, with the technicians in the quarries that ensure the quality of our products and I’ve even spent time with the finance team.

A bit about me: Whilst studying at Newcastle University I had the opportunity to run the Student Brewing Society; Europe’s first student-run sustainable microbrewery. We made over 2000 pints a month, selling to local bars and for pop-up events on campus. I still dabble in home brewing but in my spare time I usually like to unwind with a few hours on the Xbox or playing with my kitten, Vlad.
