James Dunford

“The world is changing at such a fast rate and its exciting to hear the new ideas that young people have to creatively solve some of the big challenges the world faces.”

What I do: I manage a rail head for Tarmac. We get material from the peak district every night on two trains. We unload this and then load the material onto lorries in the day. I ensure the day-to-day safety of the operation whilst managing the strategy for unloading the trains and operating efficiently.

A bit about me: I love the outdoors and I’m a keen hiker. I became a dad this year (2021) and it’s the best life event in the world for me! I love the extractives and construction industry and studied a degree in Mining Engineering.
