“The Big Ideas Programme Is a Big Opportunity for Me! I love to see young minds run wild – their creativeness is endless, no idea is a bad idea, just needs tweaking. To support a group of students, to see them get excited as their idea comes to life and see them develop as a team will be amazing to watch.”
What do I do: My role is to manage and grow the Mears Foundation so that it is better able to support the vulnerable in our communities. There are two key areas that I focus on:
I build relationships with donors and supporters, encouraging them to take part in fundraising activity and to work with the Foundation to grow it’s annual income.
Working with Mears employees, charities and good causes I identify great opportunities to support local projects and initiatives that help the vulnerable families and individuals, by awarding Foundation grants that tackle issues such as social exclusion, isolation, poverty, mental health and violence.
A bit about me: I love to be with people, family, friends and work colleagues. Sport is my thing and recently I have found my love of running again. Outdoors will be where you find me – hiking, cycling or rowing on charity challenges or just walking my dog, Maisey.
