“I had the immense pleasure of being one of the mentors to pupils from The Oaks Secondary School in Spennymoor, for the Big Ideas programme in 2017/18. I have to say this was one of the most amazing experiences I have had in terms of Social Value Projects. It is a real eye opener, as it goes to show that although all of the pupils had special educational needs, a vast majority of them will be our great minds of the future, if given the opportunity to shine!  With our help, support and guidance it makes a massive difference. So excited at being given the opportunity to do it again.”

What do I do: I am responsible for all elements of Customer Care, internally & externally, from a Group perspective. I look after several branches in the North ensuring we are maintaining contractual requirements. I am also involved in organising social value projects, training, mentoring, employability workshops & as a Dementia Champion, I run Dementia awareness sessions in the community & for colleagues & the clients.

A bit about me: I love walking along the beach which is a stone’s throw away from where I live, eating Chinese food and having lots of family time. I have a new granddaughter now, Ruby Isabella, who is 1, so she keeps me on my toes and always makes me smile. I mentor with the Prince’s Trust and Depaul in my spare time, working with young people aged between 16 – 25.
