I love seeing at first hand the completely fresh and uninhibited approach that young people take to idea generation and innovation. As the ideas progress and take on a concrete form it’s great to see the confidence growing, and the realisation that they can make a real difference.

What I do: I work mainly in the field of buried utilities, specifically providing software and expertise that helps people to understand where buried assets are, so they don’t hit them when digging, causing injury to themselves and others.  I’m spending a lot of time and effort lately serving on various initiatives up and down the country which aim to make buried utility data better and more accessible – this is something that I’m passionate about, and I hope we are moving in the right direction.

A bit about me: I run three businesses, so I don’t have much free time! What time I do have I like to spend with my family, but I probably spend way too much time following my beloved Huddersfield Town football club. I also love music, poetry and literature and classic cinema, so I indulge these passions whenever and wherever I can – being my own boss and working at home helps a lot on that front!
