Internship reflections from Alice

In September I started my 10-week internship at Solutions for the Planet. I have really enjoyed my time at the organisation and it has been great to be involved with a project I feel so passionate about! Having come from a background that was largely focused within the charity/development sector, I have found it fascinating seeing how the social enterprise business model of S4TP operates. In particular, it has been amazing to witness how collective action through business partners can create so many benefits for staff, mentors and young people.

Throughout my time at S4TP, I have undertaken a variety of roles from organising the resources used by children at Big Ideas days, recruiting schools and conducting market research so that S4TP can continue to grow!

I have really enjoyed being part of the small team and have been really impressed with how well the team communicates despite being spread out across the country! A highlight for me has been the team meetings that happen twice a week where we take turns to chair and present either an article, idea or short video. My involvement at S4TP has given me valuable experience which I know will complement my studies as I continue my MSc and has re-established to me the importance of sustainable, innovative thinking!
