We are delighted to announce that we have recently welcomed two new Board members to the Solutions for the Planet family:
First we would like to introduce Russell Brown. Russell has worked in the IT industry for 15 years: helping customers by successfully delivering IT solutions that address the demands of their business; working across all Industry Sectors and with customers across the world; building and leading high performing teams that effectively help businesses navigate the complex and rapidly changing technology landscape.
Russell has been involved in numerous charitable programmes, supporting projects in South Africa, India and in the UK, all of which have had a clear purpose around supporting young people to re-think what is possible and support the development of an environment that they can thrive in.
Russell relocated with his family to France in 2016, where he lives with his wife Elizabeth, their 2 children, dog and three cats. They lead an active lifestyle and fully enjoy the French culture and way of life. To top it off Russell manages to squeeze in some time on his road bike, watch rugby and play golf.
“I am passionate about identifying and helping people to achieve their potential, achieve more than they thought possible. This is a fundamental principal for S4TP and I’m delighted to be involved with this great organisation”.
Melanie Taylor is our second new Board member. Melanie’s career started in local government, leading sustainability and energy strategy across West Yorkshire, with a focus on driving partnerships and collaboration across the public and private sectors. Following this, she was a Management Consultant at KPMG, working with public sector clients to prepare for the future and drive transformational change. She is currently Head of Stakeholder Relations at Northern Gas Networks, ensuring services continue to meet the needs and preferences of a diverse range of stakeholders across the North.
Outside of work Melanie fills her time with walking, exploring and eating Italian food.
“Being part of Solutions for the Planet is a great way to inspire young people to think creatively and develop ideas for addressing big issues in a structured business planning process. Not only that, S4TP helps young people to build confidence and engage in STEM topics whilst thinking outside the box.”
Russell and Melanie join Jen, Simon, Kat and Mark and between them will focus on the sustainable growth of the business and our five-year strategy. You can find out more about our Directors and team here.
