Big Bang Fair Competition 2017

Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition 2017

Would you like to enter your project into the Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Competition?

Students on our Solutions for the Planet programme would have already done all the hard work completing their Solutions for the Planet project, so why not enter it into the Big Bang competition and get some more credit for the work they’ve done! It’ll be a good chance to practice presenting in front of judges!

The South East heats of the Big Bang Competition are held at the Big Bang Fair South East on Wednesday 28th June at the South of England Showground. The video shows what the day itself is all about. The competition is open to all students aged 11-18 who have completed a project through a STEM Club or any kind of school scheme. There are cash prizes on the day – as well as top in each category (eg. science / engineering) and age group, there are loads of sponsor prizes, ranging from subject-related (eg. physics) to soft skills (eg. communication).

Top projects in each category are also nominated straight to the national finals which take place in Birmingham each March.

Please see the website or contact Jo McKinney-Green (j.j.mckinney@brighton.ac.uk) if you’d like more information, or you can register directly here. She’ll then be in touch closer to the time with all the logistics of the event (eg. parking, directions, risk assessments) as well as on the competition itself (eg. stand space).

We hope to see you there!
